About
Love flowers? Want to hone your watercolour skills? Or are you a total beginner? Come along to learn from one of the best, local artist Helen Stanley.
Helen is super sweet and such a wealth of knowledge. She will provide with you all the right materials and some inspiring flowers to paint on the day. Suitable for beginners and enthusiasts alike.
During the workshop you will learn how to create beautiful free flowing floral paintings. Some basic drawing instruction will be given. Techniques on applying watercolour paint will be demonstrated and then practiced by the group.
Cost per head is $120 and a yummy morning tea, cool drinks, tea and coffee will be provided. We’ll be breaking for a 40min lunch break, so you’re welcome to bring your own and eat in air conditioned comfort of The Wheelhouse, or duck down the street for a bite. Materials supplied – watercolour paper, palettes, water containers, boards, masking tape. Watercolour paints and some brushes are available for use but you may prefer to use your own.
A selection of flowers will be provided. You are welcome to bring flowers from your garden if you wish.
Materials not supplied – Please bring a lead pencil (B, or 2B), eraser, ruler (30cm) and sketch pad for practicing flower forms. A selection of round brushes ranging from size 0 – 10. You do not need one of every size (for example, you could just use sizes 1, 3, 5, 7, 9) or ones between. Preferably also bring brushes you have, including flat brushes as you can learn how to use them.
