Tamworth Birdwatchers - Field Trip
Time & Location
Field trip to the Rangari area between Manilla and Boggabri: 8:00am Saturday 28 September 2019.
This location features a weeping myall woodland which is classified as a threatened ecological community. It is a great spot to see the Painted Honeyeater and several other vulnerable species including Littler Lorikeet, Speckled Warbler, Diamond Firetail, Grey-crowned Babbler and Spotted Harrier. We will also be visiting a large farm dam that still has a reasonable amount of water.
We expect to have a great day of bird watching and while we cannot be assured of seeing all of the vulnerable species mentioned above we are assured of seeing a good number of different species including both bush, land and water birds.
Tamworth Birdwatchers welcomes new members. If you are interested, the field trip will be leaving at 8:00am, from the car park behind the Community Centre in Darling Street. Be there early so we can organise car-pooling. Bring binoculars if you have them and come prepared with your morning tea, lunch and plenty of water.
