1. Doing it For Our Farmers and Ladies Family Fun Day


Saturday May 11 // Paceway Tamworth // 10am – 3pm


An incredible day focusing on women’s mental health and highlighting the work of our farmers in this drought-stricken region.


Gold coin donation, Horse events, ute show with great prizes, live entertainment, market stalls, cake stalls, Mother’s Day Stalls, raffles, jumping castle, face painting.


A focus on women’s mental health, with several rural health organisations represented on the day.


2. Tamworth Musical Society’s Beauty and the Beast


Saturday May 11 and Sunday May 12 // Capitol Theatre // 2pm


A talented cast, orchestra and crew have put together a stunning version of the Disney Classic film, Beauty and the Beast.


Tying together the three pillars of singing, dancing and acting, the Musical Society have been rehearsing since January—quite a long rehearsal for any production!


For many of the cast, performing in an iconic Disney stage production is a dream come true, especially for Bill who plays ‘The Beast’ and Cara who plays ‘Belle’.

3. Get your sport fix this Saturday!

Between Womens Rugby Union, Basketball and the Premier League, there’s plenty for the sports fan this weekend!


Start your Saturday off with the Central North Rugby Union Women's 7's Round 5 with Quirindi vs Gunnedah, Barraba and Gwydir v Narrabri. On a BYE this week are the Pirates, Moree and Inverell.


Looking to the Woodleys Isuzu Ute Northern Inland Premier League Round 6, check out South Armidale vs OVA at the New England Mutual Armidale Sports Ground from 3pm, the North Companions vs North Armidale at Riverside 3B from 3pm, and the Demon Knights vs East Armidale at Rologas also from 3pm. Tamworth FC BYE.


Finish off your weekend with the Tamworth Thunderbolts vs Central Coast Crusaders at the Tamworth Sports Dome from 6pm.


4. Mother’s Day Lunch at CH on Peel

Why not hop in the car and make a trip out to Quirindi and discover all there is to find at the Quota Monthly Markets.


There’s lots of treats available for Mother’s Day, including craft goods and bric-a-brac, perfect if you’re running out of time to get mum a present.


You can also find some excellent produce, local honey, plants and jewellery.

Not to mention all books are $5 per bag, so get along and check it out.


This is the Quirindi Quota Club’s major fundraiser for the year so make sure you get down and support the community.


6. Kokedama Workshops for Mother’s Day


Sunday May 12 // Weswal Gallery // 10.30am and 12.30pm


Weswal Gallery, in conjunction with A Dash of Green, will be running Kokedama making workshops this Mothers Day!


If you’ve never heard of Kokedama, it is the Japanese art of creating an ornamental ball of soil covered with moss.


Workshops starting from 10:30am or 12:30pm and are $60 per ticket, including all supplies as well as tea and coffee—a gorgeous morning out for your mum.

While you’re down there check out the stunning exhibition “Drawn to Bush”, by artist Lesyle Cole—who utilises deep colours and interesting brush strokes to create her bush-themed subjects.


7. Tamworth Growers Markets

Saturday mornings are for coffee and shopping, and what better place to be than the Tamworth Growers Markets on Kable Avenue out the front of Hopscotch.


Support local by grabbing a gorgeous sourdough loaf from Reverence Sourdough, and check out the other local growers goodies!


There’s plants, oils, pastries, olives, fresh fruit and vegetables—so that’s about half the shopping right there!


Don’t forget to check out the skin care as well.


Remember how important it is to shop local and support the local growers from around the region.


8. Mother’s Day at the Kootingal Bowling Club

Another excellent option for mum this weekend—or just a lovely Sunday out at the Kootingal Bowling Club.

10. Quirindi Polocrosse Carnival


Saturday May 11, Sunday May 12 // Quirindi Racecourse // 8.30am


Check out this very welcoming and spectator friendly sport and support YOUR local team this weekend at the Quirindi Show Ground. 


A massive weekend for Quirindi with the opens, womens, juniors and sub-juniors competitions happening over the weekend.


Competitors have the chance to win over $15,000 in prizes!


It all starts 8.30 am with finals happening from midday Sunday.
