A 31-year-old man faces Tamworth Court for alleged drug supply

At 9 am on Thursday 7th January Strikeforce Catkin swooped on a home in Werris Creek arresting a 31-year-old man for several charges related to the supply of prohibited drugs.

The man was arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station where he was charged with 5 offences including the supply of prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis and dealing with the proceeds of crime.

Strikeforce Catkin was established in April 2020 to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in Werris Creek and Tamworth.

Acting Inspector Jason Darcy, Oxley Police Districts Crime Manager, said people who may have information on the supply of prohibited drugs in the Werris Creek or Tamworth area are urged to come forward.

"We want to get prohibited drugs off our streets and will continue to target those who supply drugs in our community," Acting Inspector Darcy said.

The man was refused bail and will appear before Tamworth Local Court on Friday 8th January.
