As coronavirus restrictions continue to waver between open and restricted Tamworth Regional Council have created multiple scenario plans so a range of events can continue from September.
Peter Ross, manager of Entertainment Venues for Tamworth Regional Council said Tamworth is very lucky to have a range of venues to choose from.
"It's great to have a plan in Tamworth for the reopening," said Mr Ross.
Music-based events including The Rock Show Oz Edition, Gone Too Soon, The Songs and Tales of Angry Old Men, Damien Leith; as well as live theatre events including Les Divas: an All-Male Revue, Magic Beach, Edward The Emu and local events; The Studio’s Chapter One, Len Waters Cultural Spectacular, 2340 Big Band Rock The Classics and TCDA’s Eternity are proceeding.
The Entertainment Venues team has a COVID Safety Plan in place and the safety of staff and customers is at the top of their list as they plan for the first show slated from 31 August 2020.
Mr Ross said, "If restrictions are still in place, we will be moving shows, on a show by show basis, out of the Capitol into TRECC, into an intimate mode there".
At least one week prior to an event they will be communicating to audiences whether the events will be as scheduled at the Capitol or whether they have been relocated to TRECC due to restrictions still being in place.
