AgQuip postponed in wake of COVID-19 pandemic

Updated: Nov 11, 2020

The region's iconic field day has been pushed back three months in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. AgQuip is the most significant event on Gunnedah's calendar with 100,000 people flocking to the town for the three-day show usually held in August. But now it will be held on November 10 to 12 as organisers try to deal with the fallout of the COVID-19 crisis. In an online statement, the organisers said they decided following talks with their AgQuip exhibitors and key stakeholders. "ACM Rural Events wish to advise that AgQuip 2020 is officially postponed," they said. "The August event is rescheduled to be staged on Tuesday to Thursday, 10 to November 12 2020. "In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and following research and intelligence from our AgQuip exhibitors and key stakeholders, the organisers have been encouraged and enabled to make a strong and decisive call on new AgQuip dates for this calendar year. The organisers will continue to monitor the Australian and State Government ordinance on mass gatherings with the understanding the Coronavirus is a fluid situation."
