Behaviour change program comes to Tamworth

Updated: Oct 12, 2020

The Tamworth regional area will gain a new service to support families in domestic violence situations.

The men's behavioural change service, run by Centrecare will be the first of its kind in the region.

The program provides men with training, support and practical tools to change or modify their behaviour in relation to domestic violence.

Tanya Rodgers a Family Safety Worker from Centrecare New England North West said its really important there is a suite of services that can be provided, both to men who perpetrate violence and abuse, and women and children who are victims.

"It's important to have different avenues and different services that people can engage and tap into, to suit their particular needs," said Ms Rodgers.

Centrecare has been working for two years to be certified to provide this program.
