Countdown to the 150th Tamworth Show

The countdown is on for the 150th Tamworth Show, returning this March with an outstanding line up including Australia's top Motocross show, Tania and Macca from What's Up Down Under and Australia's favourite blue heeler pups.

The Tamworth Pastoral and Agricultural (P&A) Association are excited to celebrate the milestone year and said despite the six month turnaround from the September 2022 show they've put together a fantastic program.

This year Tania Kernaghan and Macca will open the show on Saturday with the FMX Motocross team replacing the traditional Saturday night rodeo.

Tania and Macca from What's Up Down Under are opening the 150th Tamworth Show.

“As hosts of What’s Up Down Under, Tania and Macca celebrate all things caravanning and camping. We’re looking forward to sharing their love of travelling and maybe even a special tune from the country music icon, “ told P & A President, Greg Townsend.

While the rodeo has always been incredibly popular, Mr Townsend is confident that the FMX team won’t disappoint.

"FMX is one of the top professional Motocross teams in Australia and this is their first indoor show in Tamworth.

"With a focus on providing great family entertainment and amazing stunts, while going the extra mile to meet and greet fans, we think people are going to love them.“

The Show is set to be an epic and adrenaline pumping weekend with the FMX.

Sunday is likely to be a sea of blue with Australia's favourite Blue Heeler pups, Bluey and Bingo, live on stage.

The two pups have been praise by TV critics for “depicting a modern everyday family life, constructive parenting messages and the role of Bandit as a positive father figure” – albeit with four paws and a huge dash of humour that appeals to both kids and adults!

Although included in the ticket price, Mr Townsend says that bookings are essential to see the stars of the ABC television sensation who will be at the show on Sunday from 10am-2pm.

The headline acts will be backed up by all the favourites including a free family zone, livestock, horse events, camel races, Inflatables R Us, trade displays, sideshow alley and Saturday night fireworks finale.

Mr Townsend is encouraging people to pre purchase family tickets, only available from the P&A.

"Our $55 pre purchase tickets are fantastic value. They provide unlimited access for 2 adults and 3 children, for the entire 3 days of the show. And we've put together a list of 55 things for $55. Where else can you get three days of entertainment and events, for the entire family, for that price?" he said.

The show will run from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th March at AELECC with full details on tamworth.nsw.gov.au and Facebook.
