COVID-safe Anzac Day local services

COVID-19 has changed the way Australians can commemorate Anzac Day, yet again. RSL NSW sub-Branches have been working closely with their local councils and police in order to coordinate COVID-safe Anzac Day services, including dawn services and marches.


Light Up The Dawn is the driveway vigil service where members of the community are able to pay their respects to the Fallen. Sign Up on the RSL Australia website - https://lightupthedawn.com.au/ to join in on the commemorations in the most COVID-safe way possible.


Below is a list of arrangements made for various communities and their veterans:


Tamworth


5.30am - Dawn Service at the ANZAC Gates Memorial

From 4.30am COVID Contact Tracing Check-In Points will be open under lights for public access to the main area of the ANZAC Gates Memorial.

The maximum capacity for this event is 1000 people and electronic counting will be in place.


10.00am – Veterans Memorial Walk at No.1 Oval, Kable Avenue

This is a veterans only event. Any veterans who wish to participate are to meet at


9.45am for a 10.00am step off, and will walk from No.1 Oval to Tamworth Memorial Town Hall via Kable Avenue, White Street, Peel Street and Fitzroy Street.


10.45am - Main Commemoration Service at Tamworth War Memorial Town Hall

Veterans and members of the community are invited to attend the main service. COVID Check In Points will be active from 9.45am at the main entrance.

The maximum capacity for this event is 376 people and electronic counting will be in place.

The service will be live streamed courtesy of Tamworth Regional Council and you can find the link on council website, Sub-Brand Facebook and websites of the Hon Barnaby Joyce MP and Kevin Anderson MP.


12.00noon – Members’ and Veterans Luncheon at West Tamworth League Club Phillip Street

Tamworth sub-Branch Members and Veterans are invited to attend the ANZAC Day Luncheon at West Tamworth League Club.


Quirindi


5.30am - Dawn Service at George Street

Everyone is invited to attend and then follow on to the Quirindi RSL Club for breakfast.


10.00am – March and Main Service

Everyone is invited to attend and then follow on to the Quirindi RSL Club for lunch.


Kootingal


8.00am – Veterans March at Kootingal Oval

Everyone is invited.


9.00am – Memorial Service at Kootingal War Memorial and Memory Park

Everyone is invited.


Manilla

5.30am – Dawn Service at Manilla Showground

Everyone is invited.


10.45am – March at Manilla Showground

Everyone is invited.


11.00am – Main Service at Manilla Showground

Everyone is invited.


Barraba


6.00am – Dawn Service at Barraba War Memorial

Everyone is invited.


11.00am – Memorial Service at the lawn cemetery

Everyone is invited.
