Two people have been charged after an alleged armed robbery in West Tamworth yesterday.
About 6:30pm on Monday night, police responded to a report of an armed robbery on Cole Street, West Tamworth.
Officers from Oxley Police District attended and were told a 26 year old man was driving a Ford Falcon on Cole Street when an unknown man waved him down.
When the driver stopped, the driver was allegedly threatened with a pair of scissors before being taken to a nearby home on Cole Road, where he was threatened further and had his mobile phone stolen.
The man managed to fleet the home a short time later and alerted police. Following inquiries, police attended a home on Cole Street, West Tamworth, where they arrested a 28-year-old man and a 15 year-old boy.
Both were charged with multiple offences, including robbery in company. The man was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court today. The teen was given conditional bail to appear at a children’s court on Tuesday October 5.
