One of the city's most beloved country music events is determined to see the show go on.
Hats Off To Country is going online with four days of incredible artists sharing amazing music.
Organisers said that despite the easing of COVID-19 rules, it’s not clear just how many patrons will be allowed into venues so the decision to create a virtual event has been taken to reduce the stress and worry out of this year’s planning.
Over the Hats Off weekend, artists who may have been coming to Tamworth, or performed or want to perform will take part in a four-day online festival.
Some artists will pre-record their spot and some will perform during a live takeover.
There’ll also be a window into some of the venues and to a number of Tamworth’s country music attractions.
Coordinator Cheryl Brown said the festival is an event for everyone.
“With more than 40 performers there’s something for everyone, with a spotlight on singer-songwriters," she said.
“Tamworth is renowned for bringing together artists and avid music-lovers for the annual Toyota Country Music Festival each January and “Hats Off” is another wonderful opportunity to highlight established and emerging artists.
“It’s also a great chance to support our local entertainment venues who provide fantastic entertainment and service. They really come together each year to make this festival such a success.”
