Heavy rain closes roads, but fails to boost Chaffey Dam

While the region has seen some much-needed rainfall, the city's water supply has only seen a slight increase.


Chaffey Dam went up by 0.27 per cent, Dungowan Dam by 3.94 per cent and Split Rock Dam by 1.93 per cent.


Tamworth, Moonbi and Kootingal used an average of 16.2ML in the past week, just 0.1ML above the target consumption on Level 5 water restrictions.


As of Wednesday morning, council advised Prices Road and Soliders Settlement Road had been added to the list of road closures.


New roads closed

  • Whitehouse Lane, Tamworth. Closed at creek near New England Highway.

  • Higgins Avenue, low level bridge, Manilla.

  • Rushes Creek Road, Manilla. Closed 5km outside of Manilla.


Roads remaining closed

  • Wallamore Road, closed between Evans Street and Kingsford Smith Street.

  • Duri Dungowan Road, closed between Loomberah Road and Tongues Lane.

  • Warral Road, near Timbumburi Creek, West Tamworth. Burgmanns Lane, between Goonoo Goonoo Road and Burgess Lane.

  • Prices Road, Bective. Closed at Hamiltons Lane intersection.

  • Soliders Settlement Road, Bective. Closed at Prices Road and Warminister Road intersection.

  • Burgmanns Lane, between Goonoo Goonoo Road and Burgess Lane.
