The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service has saved countless lives in Tamworth and beyond, and they are looking for the community to help keep them flying.
The rescue service does not discriminate on economic status, meaning the teams respond to any incidents where they are needed.
"What happens most of the time is that private health insurance will absorb the cost, but if they don't have insurance, then the service foots the bill," Mr Gillett said.
"Last year, the Tamworth region saw us fly hundreds of missions; we saved hundreds of lives."
"On average, we are out 1.5 times a day."
Mr Gillet said as funding for regional medical services has declined in recent years, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service is more important than ever.
"We provide an essential link between those smaller hospitals and the bigger metropolitan ones with specialist care," he added.
"We can get people there in the fastest way technology will allow."
Mr Gillet said the helicopter is practically an "ICU in the sky" as there are a doctor and a critical care paramedic on the scene.

He added that the organisation had changed the way aeromedical is provided in NSW.
"We carry incredible equipment, and it is all designed to save lives," Mr Gillet said.
"We fly with professional, talented doctors and paramedics and put them where they are needed.
"Whatever the scenario or the age or gender of the patient, we are here to help."
After 20 years of saving lives, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service is looking to the community to help keep them in the skies.
All they have to do is purchase a ticket, dress to the nines and dance the night away.
"This year, the 2020 Tamworth Rescue Ball is sponsored by Single Builders, and we are celebrating 20 years of being based out here," Mr Gillet said.
"We are going back to the Oxley Lookout because we had one there five years ago and people are still talking about it.
"It's as much as a celebration as it is a fundraiser to keep us running and make sure the helicopter can respond to any incident 24/7."
