Lawn Bowls Championship a Success

South Tamworth Bowlo hosts the Championship of Championship lawn bowls competition for 2021.


Players from all over Australia are representing their club and zone, postponed from last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic; players have been able to continue honing their skills.

The Zone Singles Champion from each of the 16 zones competes for the State Champion of Champion title and to qualify for the National Championships in Broadbeach later this year.


Phill O’Reilly, CEO of South Tamworth Bowl, said its an honour to host the finals for the second time,

“We’ve got amazing facilities here, the greens are perfect for play and we look forward to the opportunity to host this calibre of players.”



After five days of competing in singles and pairs with spectators either in person or watching the live stream from home, the winners were crowned.


Jono Davis (Macquarie Dubbo) has claimed his second NSW Open State Champion of Club Champions Singles title, defeating Ben Glasson (Mt Lewis) in an epic final at South Tamworth Bowling Club.


Pairs Steve Kerr and Batt Blackburn (Belrose) lost to Shane Gibbin and Josh Zephyr (Halekulani). Pair Daniel Mathieson and Michael Cronin (Maitland City) bested Kane Shorter and Sam Dukes (Wallacia)


Winners will go on to Broadbeach Bowls Club, Gold Coast, Queensland, later this year.
