Local leaders project courage and humility in NAIDOC celebration

Tamworth NAIDOC week has proceeded despite the adversity faced in 2020.

The local NAIDOC Committee presented a calendar of events ranging from chalk serpent art in Fitzroy Plaza to Lingo Bingo at Werris Creek Bowling and Tennis Club.

One highlight has been the gallery of portraits featuring Dhuurranmay-Gal Dhirrabuu (Outstanding Leaders) on exhibition at the Tamworth Library and projected onto Ray Walsh house on Thursday evening.

Our journalist Toni Ambrogetti caught up with one of the featured leaders Michelle Ramirez, photographer Danny Dalton and NAIDOC Committee Chair Marc Sutherland.

You can see the projected portraits this evening Friday 13th November at 8 pm.

More information on the NAIDOC week closing events can be found here.
