Man charged after dog attack in Oxley Vale front yard

Updated: Nov 11, 2020

A couple has been slapped with $1000 fines for breaching public health orders after a violent confrontation unfolded in a front yard. About 4.40pm on Monday, police will allege a 37-year-old man was at a home on Manilla Road, Oxley Vale when a Holden Commodore pulled up outside and a 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman exited the vehicle with a dog. It’s alleged the younger man, armed with a metal pole, threatened and attempted to assault the older man before setting his dog on him. Officers from Oxley Police District attended and arrested the 24-year-old man. He's accused of intimidation; being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence; set on or urge dog to attack; negligent driving; and driving recklessly or furiously, or in a speed or manner dangerous. He was granted conditional bail to front Tamworth Local Court in July.
