A man is facing a charge of reckless wounding and shoplifting offences after an incident at K-Mart in Tamworth Square yesterday afternoon.
It's alleged a 38-year-old man was detected shoplifting and was brought back into the store by an employee, he then stabbed the staff member with a pair of scissors.
Investigators say the victim was taken to Tamworth Hospital for treatment but his injuries weren't believed to be serious.
Detectives examined the scene while a 38-year-old man was taken into custody.
He was charged and refused bail by police, pending an appearance at Tamworth Local Court today.
