NZ Warriors back to Tamworth for one month of pre season

The NZ Warriors will be returning to Tamworth for one month of pre-season training before the 2021 NRL competition kicks off.

The club will arrive on January 3rd before moving to the Central Coast for the regular season.

The Warriors opening two home games against Gold Coast Titans and Newcastle Knights will both be played at the Central Coast stadium.

Warriors CEO Cameron George said the club is excited to come back to Tamworth, however, they hope to return to NZ for their round five home game against Manly on April 9.

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said he is confident the Warriors will be able to return home for the majority of the season, putting doubts on whether or not they will play a game in Tamworth.

Despite the NRL's confidence, operation of the trans-Tasman bubble will be up to the New Zealand government and may pend on the level of biosecurity the NRL chooses to operate under for the 2021 season.

In coming Warriors coach Nathan Brown told NRL.com he looks forward to bringing the team together in Tamworth next month.

"It's going to be really critical we get together as a group, which the camp in Tamworth is all about," Brown said.
