A local sport grant of $5000 will help to create opportunities for junior Baseball players in Tamworth, with a plan to subsidise fees and buy uniforms and playing equipment.
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson Congratulated Cougars baseball club on its success with the grant and said it will help to serve the sport well in years to come.
Cougars Club member and president of Tamworth Baseball incorporated Craig Lee said missing out on the carnival this year due to the pandemic was a blow to the sport.
Mr Lee also said that this grant will assist us with further development of players and coaches in the club, buying new and additional training equipment and assist with reducing over operating costs for all.
