Officers from the Oxley Police District are appealing for information to locate a vehicle, which is believed to be linked to two robberies in Tamworth last night, one involving an 81-year-old man.
At about 7:20pm an elderly man was parked on the corner of Bridge Street and Out Street waiting for his the 15-year-old passenger who was across the road in a fast food outlet.
Moments later, an unknown male entered the passenger door of the vehicle and demanded the man’s wallet, while kicking him and threatening him with a knife.
The driver opened his door and fell out of his seat and the unknown man ran off in a southerly direction along Out Street.
A short time later, two men entered a home on Dowell Avenue, and threatened a 21-year-old man while demanding cash.
The two men took a wallet and cash before fleeing the scene.
Following inquiries, police believe a Silver Mitsubishi Lancer with NSW registration CP78ZS, may be linked to both incidents.
Police are appealing for anyone with information or dash cam footage to come forward.
