More than 50 people’s concerns around the proposed extension of Whitehaven’s Vickery Coal Mine were heard at the Independent Planning Commission's second public hearing in Gunnedah yesterday.
The commission will now use the feedback given by around 100 Boggabri and Gunnedah residents over the two hearings to create a report.
NSW Co-ordinator for the Lock the Gate Alliance, Georgina Woods says a lot of issues raised by community members were focused around water supplies.
The Commission will also accept written submissions on the proposal up until Tuesday 12 February 2019 via https://www.ipcn.nsw.gov.au/.
