Tamworth firefighters deployed in fight against bushfires
Tamworth firefighters have been deployed throughout NSW to aid other towns as fiery blazes ravage parts of the state.
In a online statement, Fire and Rescue NSW Station 508 West Tamworth explained their role.
"Our crew along with multiple other crews from Regional North 3 and other zones conducted a successful hazard reduction burn to protect properties in Shoalhaven," it read.
"Residents were nervous and unsure at first but had their minds quickly put at ease after we talked with them for a while and offered some reassurance.
"Great work to all teams and keep up the good work."
Across the state, there are reports that seven people have died and 170 homes have been destroyed after fires swept through.
