Council praised residents in Tamworth, Moonbi and Kootingal for their fantastic effort in reducing water use this week with the average daily consumption sitting at 14.65ML. All three, however, will remain on Level 5 water restrictions and residents are reminded that this means no use of treated water outdoors at all. Town water supplies are can continue to be used for essential health, hygiene and safety needs. Greywater, recycled and rainwater can be used both indoors and outdoors. As of Monday, Nundle will be brought down to Level 2 restrictions. Under this level, the following rules will apply:
Hand-held hoses and sub-surface dripper systems can be used for two hours only per day from 5pm to 7pm Eastern Standard Time;
Vehicles can only be washed with a hand-held hose, with a trigger nozzle attached, between 5pm to 7pm Eastern Standard Time, but a bucket can be used any time;
Pools can be filled and topped up;
Recycled, greywater and rainwater can be used. Rainwater tanks can only be approved by council and a sign issued if they are stand-alone and not able to be switched to the treated supply;
Sprinklers, sprays, microjet sprays and fixed hoses cannot be used; and
No washdown of hard surfaces unless using a high-pressure cleaner.
