Grab your picnic basket, rug, family and friends and get ready to enjoy a re-imagined classic under the stars.
Newcastle Permanent’s Cinema Under the Stars is back in Tamworth this Friday night.
The free, family-friendly event will be held at Bicentennial Park featuring the new release, The Lion King, rated PG.
Entertainment will begin from 5.30pm with great live music, kids activities including a circus workshop, roving characters and football activities, and once the sun goes down the screen will light up for the feature movie.
Tamworth branch manager, Julie Callander, said the organisation was proud to deliver what is now "Australia’s largest free regional outdoor cinema program".
“We understand how much people in regional communities across NSW look forward to our Cinema Under the Stars events, and as a customer-owned organisation it’s a real pleasure to give these events to the communities that support us,” she said.
“Since 2008, Newcastle Permanent’s Cinema Under the Stars has brought people together at free outdoor cinema events in regional NSW, and our 12th event in Tamworth is expected to attract 3,000 people in February.
Entry is free for everyone and people are encouraged to bring along their rugs and picnics or purchase food and non-alcoholic drinks at the event as they soak up the magical atmosphere.
