25 (2015)


Before its official release, "When We Were Young" had sold 150,000 digital copies in the United States, solely as an album track. It debuted at number 22 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming the chart's highest new entry


9. Easy On Me

30 (2021)



Upon release, "Easy on Me" broke the all-time record for the most streamed song in a single day on Spotify with 24 million global streams, as well as the most first-day global streams of any song in the history of Amazon Music. The song also broke the record for the most-streamed song in a day in the United Kingdom with over 3.2 million streams. In the United States, "Easy on Me" debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated 23 October 2021) at number 68 with only five hours of availability in the country. In that timeframe, the song garnered 3.1 million streams, 3.1 million radio audience impressions, and 14,800 digital copies sold; it marked Adele's 14th career entry on the Hot 100!

8. Water Under The Bridge

25 (2015)


In the U.S. and the UK, the song was Adele's lowest-charting single from 25, peaking at number 26 and number 39, respectively. However, on 14 December 2015, Billboard reported that "Water Under the Bridge" was the third best-selling song from 25, having sold 104,000 copies. Although "Water Under the Bridge" only peaked at 26 in the U.S., which is unusual for Adele, the song became a big sleeper hit in late 2020 and throughout 2021.

7. Rumor Has It

Adele explained that the song was not inspired by the media, but was aimed at her own friends, who frequently spread rumours about her break-up with her boyfriend: "People might think it's about blogs and magazines and papers, but it's not. It's about my own friends believing stuff that they hear about me, which is pretty mortifying really.

"Skyfall" received universal acclaim, with critics praising its lyrics, production and Adele's vocal performance, with numerous critics and publications ranking it amongst the best Bond themes. The song was a global success, topping the charts in eleven countries and reaching the top five in various other regions. It peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart and number eight on the US Billboard Hot 100. With sales of 7.2 million copies worldwide, "Skyfall" is one of the best selling digital singles of all time.

4. Set Fire To The Rain

No proper music video was shot for "Set Fire to the Rain" (as well as other singles from 21, "Rumour Has It" and "Turning Tables") as Adele had recently undergone vocal surgery. Instead, a live performance video was uploaded on YouTube to her Vevo account and has received more than 633 million views as of April 2021.

3. Hello

25 (2015)


"Hello" was an immediate global success, topping the charts in at least a record-breaking 36 countries, including in the United Kingdom where it became Adele's second chart topper, following "Someone Like You", and had the largest opening week sales in three years. In the United States, "Hello" debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100, reigning for ten consecutive weeks whilst becoming Adele's fourth number-one single on the chart and breaking several records, including becoming the first song to sell over a million digital copies in a week. By the end of 2015, it had sold 12.3 million units globally (combined sales and track-equivalent streams) and was the year's 7th best-selling single while it stands as one of the best-selling digital singles of all-time.

2. Someone Like You

21 (2011)



Someone Like You became a global success, topping the charts in nineteen countries and reaching the top 10 in various other regions. Following a universally praised performance of the song at the 2011 Brit Awards, it became Adele's first number-one single in the UK and stayed on the top of the chart for five weeks, eventually becoming the best-selling single of the year in the region. The song also become Adele's second number one in the US, which made her the first British female solo artist in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 to have two number ones from the same album.

By February 2012, "Rolling in the Deep" had sold over 8.7 million copies in the United States, making it the best-selling digital song by a female artist in the US, the second-best-selling digital song in the US and Adele's best-selling single outside her native country, topping her previous best-selling "Chasing Pavements". Worldwide, it was the fifth-best-selling digital single of 2011 with sales of 8.2 million copies. As of 2019, with sales of over 20.6 million copies worldwide, "Rolling in the Deep" is the best-selling digital single of all-time. The song spent 65 weeks on the charts!
