Truck driver flown to Tamworth Hospital after truck rollover

A MAN has been airlifted to Tamworth hospital after he was trapped in a crash.


Just after 10pm on Sunday night, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter responded to reports of a truck rollover on the Newell Highway south of Coonabarabran.


It was reported the driver was trapped and suffering serious injuries.


Paramedics and rescue squad members arrived on the scene and commenced treatment and extraction of the 45-year-old man from the cabin.


Once released he was transported by road to Coonabarabran Airport where the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and Critical Care Medical Team rendezvoused with the patient.


The driver was treated for head and neck injuries prior to being flown to the Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
